Dimitris Karakostas is a PhD student in blockchain technology at the University of Edinburgh. He completed his electrical and computer engineering degree at the National Technical University of Athens. His professional experience includes working as a software engineer student intern at Nokia and in security research at the University of Athens, where he developed open source tools for both deploying and defending against compression-based web attacks. He has given presentations at conferences such as Black Hat Asia, Black Hat Europe, and Security BSides Athens. His focus at IOHK since 2018 has been on the settlement layer and wallet research.
