Nigel Hemsley

Nigel Hemsley started his career building derivative trading systems and has since built enterprise-wide systems dealing with such things as natural catastrophe modelling and insurance risk. Before joining IOHK in 2021, he specialized in large-scale technology delivery with international remote engineering teams. Nigel gained a mathematics degree at Imperial College in London, writing a thesis on financial derivatives. He is interested in blockchain and the development of new uses for cryptocurrency. In his spare time Nigel experiments with drones, solar panels, and other gadgets, and trades digital assets.
