Vitor Silva

Vitor Silva is a fintech-focused product manager from Portugal, with a technical background and a passion for innovative and disruptive technologies such as blockchain and decentralized finance. After finishing a computer science degree in 2009, he worked as a software engineer and IT consultant on projects in Lisbon and Madrid, and was introduced to the fintech Industry. In 2013 he moved to Munich, where he lived for six years and started his career as a product manager. His introduction to blockchain came in late 2016 when he was responsible for the integration of bitcoin as a payment method. Before joining IOHK in 2021, Vitor was in charge of the development of a new payment method, powered by blockchain technology, that allows users to exchange closed-loop funds in a trustless fashion and without previous blockchain knowledge.
